Project: Proposal for a lakefront house

The design challenge was to propose a 3000 square foot house on a narrow lot where the houses on the lots adjacent on each side were built nearly to the full widths of their lots. The solution was to drop the mass of the house below the shoulder of the hillside and open the entire front of the house with glass walls. The result was an essentially underground house that feels like it is completely open to the lakefront.
