Iron “Vintage Romance” hurricane

Product Development Objective: This item was part of series of verdigris and whitewash items done for TARGET’s Vintage Romance program and for Westfair/Loblaws Canada. One of the item challenges was to design the item and the packaging so that the shade could be shipped assembled and placed on the shelf complete without assembly. Packaging needed to keep the heavy metal base from crushing the glass shade during shipping. Once open on the shelf the shade needed to be held tightly enough so that if the store guest picked the glass up without holding the base that the base wouldn’t come crashing to the floor.
